EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH TSA

I'm airport blogging! I took the opportunity to ask Transportation Safety Agency personnel at a regional airport in the Southern United States.

DAVE: May I ask you a question?

AGENT "CHARLES": Yeah.

DAVE: I heard, in response to the Christmas Attempted Bombing, some airlines are prohibiting reading books within an hour of take-off and landing. Does that strike you as an overly literal response?

AGENT "CHARLES": [Nodding vigorously] Yes.

WHAT IF?

I'm watching "Pearl Harbor: Dawn of Death" on CW. It's amazing to consider that when Franklin Roosevelt learned about the Japanese attack, he spent eight minutes reading "My Pet Goat" to schoolchildren, and then spent the rest of the morning flying back and forth across the Midwest.

Years ago I commented that a US invasion of Iran would unite the country against the US. The only thing that could have stopped the revolution would have been our invasion. Aren't we glad Dick Cheney didn't get his way? I should check to see if conservatives are calling for an invasion, but the answer would probably depress me.

'Dawn breaks on a wondrous

'Dawn breaks on a wondrous Christmas morning, and Christians rise to rejoice...'

Front page stories don't begin like that in Seattle.

While I think its sad that anyone could be convicted in a modern trial in which the prosecution theories includes allegations of witchcraft, I suspected Amanda Knox was guilty when I read the words "24 year-old Italian boyfriend" in an early news article on the case. Interestingly, she is not the first Seattle Prep grad to be convicted of homicide.

Is There a Precedent?

Is There a Precedent?

Can someone give me a historic example of when the US has successfully installed a stable and democratic government in Asia by force?
