THE LOST FINALE

I thought it was good. 9 out of 10. It's a shame that the entire negative point comes from the clumsiness of the last few minutes, but it was a winner episode all the way until then. While giving most of the cast some well-earned curtain calls, the show paid off the relationships, and paid off the stories that were cut short. I thought it was well played for Aaron to be Kate's constant, and hilarious that use of his legs was Locke's. It was silly where it needed to be and sad where it needed to be. And it left me wanting more. Yeah, it could have been better, but it couldn't have been much better. God help me, I'll quote Alan Moore: "Not without it problems, I'll confess; but then, without them, could perfection be?" Lost's occasional crappiness was part of its maddening charm, and it wouldn't have been an episode of Lost without some disappointment. I cared about the characters, and was moved by their fates. Even the Island's -- the Island was going to end up at the bottom of the ocean eventually. And there was something about having to earn enlightenment even in the afterlife that resonated with my uncompleted minor in Indian Philosophy.

I was watching in a bar, and it said something about the episode that even Kate was met with cheers at one point. Usually she gets boos.

WORST FINALE EVER. I’VE WASTED 6 YEARS OF MY LIFE. HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED it. The writers should be ashamed. TERRIBLE. Worst cop-out ever. AWFUL. Disgraceful. Answered nothing. They’re all dead!?!? WHAT? Come on dude. How cheap do you think fans are that they’ll just eat whatever crap you feed them? Ridiculous.
