FMA

Obviously the root force driving this is bigotry, no matter how the proponents dissemble. The most intriquing side issue to me is the complaint against "activist judges." If that's really the problem, why doesn't someone introduce an amendment eliminating judicial review? That would eliminate a whole lot of conservative bugaboos in one fell swoop. Not easy to market, but it'd at least make sense.

I have another question which is shared by Andrew Sullivan: Jesus himself is not quoted against homosexuality anywhere in the New Testament (in fact, he has no problem lounging aroung with the Beloved Disciple's head on his chest, which sounds pretty gay to me), while he does speak strongly against divorce. So why the religious-based attack against homosexuality?
